Men’s Accessories Taking Front Page
Men have lots more options these days as far as accessories are concerned. It’s no secret that women have proudly accessorized for centuries, but somehow speaking about their accessories was something a real man just didn’t do. Now, guys can feel free to talk about their favorite accessories and how they go with their clothes.
Complete Ensemble
One men’s fashion blog lists outfits including the accessories that should accompany the clothes. In their “Street Style Photographer” ensemble, they suggest the Form Function Form Button-Stud Weekender Watch. They’ve also included a Filson Camera Field Bag. Couch’s Vintage Blue GTO Camera Strap goes with the camera they suggest you take along, as well. An MBS Cole’s Blue Knit Hat tops the outfit.
Special Occasion
For once in a lifetime events, such as (hopefully) weddings, unique accessories are a requirement. There are options available to have the accessories personalized on some sites. Engraving initials on cufflinks or money clips make the accessories personal and memorable. They make a very thoughtful gift for the groom-to-be or the father of the groom or bride. Additionally these gifts should be made of a precious or semi-precious material. They are to be given once and should be a gift that can be passed from generation to generation.
Reliable, Everyday Accessories
Wearing a watch is not as common as it used to be. The common use of a cell phone has made watch wearing redundant. But, if a watch is needed, most men would like a durable watch. One blog dedicated to tough watches writes, “If you are an adventure seeker who loves parachuting or skydiving, only the toughest watches can survive the menacing forces of gravity. If you are an adventure seeker who loves scuba diving, only the toughest watches can survive the pressure at 100 m below the ocean surface. If you are an active member of the military, you jolly well know any battlefield is unpredictable and only the toughest watches can survive the harshest and extreme condition of a battlefield.” A reliable watch can be found for each situation.
Classic pens are another accessory that men have been known to carry. These pens range from fountain pens to ballpoint. They are, however, not disposable. Cross.com, a well-known pen manufacturer, says of one of its more current pen lines, “The Townsend line, named for Alonzo Townsend Cross, descended from the distinguished Newport gold- and silversmithing family, took its inspiration from the company’s 1938 Art Deco fountain pen, but in shape, style and interior design it was entirely new. To this day it’s known as the “Pen of U.S. Presidents”. Clearly these pens can help the owner appear stately and powerful.
Accessories help men express themselves just like accessories help women. Some men may choose far more subtle accessories, but in doing so, show their sense of style, as well. Men no longer have to fear speaking about and shopping for accessories. It is now a guy thing.
