Memorial for Leah Manche set for Friday

The woman who lost control of her car and crashed into the Mississippi River this week will be laid to rest on Friday.

Leah Manche, age 28, leaves behind a young 11-year-old daughter, Brianna.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 14, 2012 in The Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the services at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the family. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Moline.

Leah is described as “spunky and had a zest for life. She was very outgoing and kind hearted and would help others if she could. She was a wonderful mother and loved spending time with her daughter. Leah enjoyed decorating her home and was a very well put together woman. Her appearance meant a lot to her. She also enjoyed singing and dancing.”

While the details are still unclear, authorities believe Manche was speeding and lost control of her vehicle, crashing into the river.
