MegaCon 2018: Justice Leagues’s AQUAMAN comes to Orlando!

As fans prepare for the return of one of Southeast’s largest fan conventions, the first announcement of this years Orlando con, Jason Momoa, has excited many!

The American actor, is best known for his television roles Ronan Dex on Stargate Atlantis and Khal Drogo on HBO series Game of Thrones.

Momoa also premiered on the big screen as the title character Conan the Barbarian.

Recently, Momoa made his debut as one of DC Universe’s newest characters, Aquaman in the 2016 featured film Batman vs. Superman. After his return as the underwater hero in last year’s Justice League film, Momoa is set to have a solo Aquaman film premier later this year.

MegaCon is the largest fan convention in the Southeast, owned by Fan Expo, it has grown to host 100,000 fans each eager to see the newest expansions.

Four-Day weekend passes and individual day tickets are now available at http://megaconorlando.com/tickets/, starting at $25. For news, guest announcements and event info, please visit. http://megaconorlando.com.

Director James Wan’s Aquaman will be set after the events of Justice League. Producer Charles Roven has confirmed the case and explains the plan.

Aquaman will make reference [to Justice League]. There will be some reference to something that preceded Aquaman that will be in Aquaman. I believe that is the intention. James [Wan] definitely knows where he’s going with [Aquaman], and that movie takes place in a world where Justice League happened, and Man of Steel happened, and Wonder Woman obviously takes place before Man of Steel – except for the bookends we have. So that’s where we have the most ability to freeform.”

Roven continues: “We could do a movie that takes place after Justice League, we can do a movie that takes place after Batman v Superman… well not really. You can’t do a movie in between Batman v Superman and Justice League, but we can do movies that take place after Justice League and we can do movies that precede Justice League.”

Momoa stars with Amber Heard as Mera and Willem DaFoe as Vulko, both set to be introduced in JL. The Get Down actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been cast in the role of villain Black Manta, Patrick Wilson is Aquaman’s super-villain half brother Orm, The Ocean Master, Temuera Morrison has been cast as Thomas Curry: Arthur Curry’s father with Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna: Arthur Curry’s mother, and former queen of Atlantis.

80’s Action star Dolph Lundgren has joined the film as Nereus: King of the undersea nation of Xebel. Michael Beach (Third Watch) will play Jesse Kane, part of a group of high-seas hijackers who has a fateful interaction with Aquaman. But fans have been speculating that Beach is taking on the role of father to Abdul-Mateen II’s Black Manta. Graham McTavish (Hobbit Trilogy) has an undisclosed role, Ludi Lin plays a character named Murk and Patrick Cox, one named Cueball.

Wan helms from a script by Will Beall, Geoff Johns and Wan.

Aquaman is now set to arrive in theaters on December 21, 2018
