Robert Small said he wanted to express his dismay over the introduction of a new school curriculum at a public forum night in Towson, Maryland. The man was instead was pulled out of the meeting, arrested and charged with second-degree assault of a police officer.
Small stood and interrupted Baltimore County School Superintendent Dallas Dance during a question-and-answer session and began to tell the audience that he believed the new curriculum was lowering the standards of education and was intended to prepare students for community colleges. “You are not preparing them for Harvard,” he said.
“My question is, how does lowering America’s educational standards prepare kids for community college?” asked Small, before soon being approached by a security guard, who was also an off-duty police officer, and being dragged away from his seat.
The outspoken father then implored the crowd to take action. “Don’t stand for this,” said Small. “You’re sitting here like cowards. You have questions!”
Small, age 46, asked him if he was an officer and the security guard, an off-duty Baltimore County police officer, showed him a badge. The officer grabbed Small’s arm and pulled him toward the aisle. The audience gasped and some people sitting nearby got out of their seats.
The officer pushed Small and then escorted him into the hall, handcuffed him and had him sit on the curb in front of the school. He was taken to the Towson precinct and detained. Small was charged with second-degree assault of a police officer, which carries a fine of $2,500 and up to 10 years in prison, and disturbing a school operation, which carries a fine of $2,500 and up to six months.

I am appalled that a police officer muscled a parent out of a public meeting! Why did the school board allow it to go that far? Why didn’t the board just answer the man’s question instead of having him bullied by a police officer? Why was a police officer at a public school board meeting anyway? Did the board anticipate problems?
Parents are going to be questioning the CCS even more. People are tired of the government bullying people in every aspect of their lives. Thank you Mr. Small for standing up! That school board should be ashamed of themselves for treating a parent in such a manner! Parents have a right to ask questions concerning their children’s education.
“Parents have a right to ask questions concerning their children’s education.”
And they were asked and answered. This individual was not there for asking questions, however. He was there to start a problem in a public forum, and to get attention. Well, both accomplished
No they weren’t, they had to be written down, the school board knew they’d get tough questions, so they could pick out the easy questions because they don’t want to admit what a JOKE Common Core is! This isn’t helping our students, each kid is different, we can’t treat them all at the same level! The more I read about Common Core, the more I’m saddened that my kids won’t get the education I received.
I think Mr. Small should sue the school board/district and the so-called security force and win a bundle .. enough to send his kids to Harvard.
No lawyer would take that case. He had no right to interrupt the individuals talking, solely to promote his case
Gestapo tactics at its finest, And here I thought we defeated the Nazis back in ’45. I guess the Constitution is no longer valid in Baltimore Co. Police departments across the US cannot control crime and are out-gunned by or on the payroll of drug lords. In order to justify their existence, they have resorted to bullying and intimidation of law abiding tax payers. Just look at the township cop in Ohio that had a family hand cuffed on the ground with a stun gun pointed at their heads after a traffic stop. These jack booted thugs think they are above the law and can do whatever they want. Question their authority and you will find yourself in the same situation. Most of these cops are probably just mad because they were not smart enough to pass the firefighters exam.

What is it with the east coast police state, another cop and government lackey teaming up to harass a citizen. People need to realize that there is nothing in the constitution that calls for any kind of police force. It is a fact that police consider themselves above the constitution and the law.
Government gone out of control.
Dear Maryland father,
What are you doing out of your seat? Don’t you know the New World Order is making terrific progress and you are expected to remain mum. And why are you assaulting an officer of the law. don’t you know they can assault you and bully you, but you have absolutely no recourse? What is wrong with you? Why are you trying to improve your school district? Why are you standing up for what you believe? Why are expecting reasonable answers to excellent questions?
Signed, your government and its enforcers.
what a-hole gave that thug a badge in the first place?
