Marc Webb praises JK Simmons as J Jonah Jamison, says he’s coming after ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’
While fans won’t see the famous editor of the Daily Bugle in “The Amazing Spider-Man,” director Marc Webb says he is likely to join the Spidey universe in the near future. Talking in an interview with Coming Soon published Monday, Webb began by praising the iconic performance from the first trilogy.
“I like the idea very much of him coming up in the next film,” says Webb. “It was more easy to accept a new Spider-Man than someone who could outdo J.K. Simmons in that role, he is so iconic.”
Now the film move on without JJJ, so will he be added – Webb sounds positive.
“That’s something we’ve really talked about. Obviously I love that character because he poses such an interesting dilemma for Spider-Man. The answer is I don’t know, but I think you can expect to see him in the future.”
The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Paul Giamatti, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Felicity Jones, Chris Cooper, B.J. Novak, Colm Feore, and Sally Field.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens in 3D on May 2nd.
