Manuela Morgado held without bail for murder of toddler son, Jason Reish, case details revealed
Manuela Maria Morgado, Manuela Reish, was found Monday semi-conscience after murder her 4-year-old son and then trying to commit suicide.
Morgado has now officially facing a felony charge of second degree murder in connection with her son’s death. The mother gave helium to the young boy and attempted to overdose on pills, source confirmed with The Global Dispatch. Helium is commonly discussed on “Right to Die” websites.
She was taken for a mental evaluation and is currently being held without bail.
Timothy Reish, the boy’s father, isn’t taking calls as of Tuesday, but a child’s voice, perhaps Jason Reish’s voice, is heard from the his answering machine: “You’ve reached the Reishes, please leave a message,” he says.
The couple was in the middle of a nasty divorce and custody battle.
Police reported that the incident was an attempted murder-suicide.
Morgado was arraigned in village court Monday and was remanded to Westchester County Jail without bail; she is due back in court on Oct. 4, said a statement from VOM Police.
“I’m in total shock, just disbelief,” one neighbor told The Patch. “I couldn’t find anything but nice things to say about her—my heart bleeds for her.”
