‘Man of Steel’ casts Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, first pic of Henry Cavill as Superman
Warner Bros. has excited Superman fans this week as they offered to major announcements this week. Yesterday was the release that “CSI” star Laurence Fishburne has been cast as Perry White and today the WB released a promo photo of star Henry Cavill as Superman.
After overcoming some controversy by casting a British actor, Cavill, as Superman, director Zack Snyder has chosen an African-American to portray the editor of the Daily Planet.
Jackie Cooper played White in the Christopher Reeve-era Superman films of the 1970s, and Frank Langella played the part in “Superman Returns”.
Moreover, fans can get a glimpse of Cavill in his Superman costume in the new photo from Warner.
Snyder’s Superman will face General Zod played by Michael Shannon.
The main cast also includes Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and Diane Lane & Kevin Costner as Martha & Jonathan Kent and even Russell Crowe as Jor-El.
“Man of Steel” is scheduled for release on June 14, 2013.
