Pop singer Olivia Newton-John’s Jupiter, Florida home has become the scene of a police investigation.

Police Sgt. Scott Pascarella said Monday that a man, age 42, was found dead from a gunshot wound inside the star’s house, reports the Palm Beach Post.

An autopsy for the man, a contractor who was working at the home, is scheduled for Tuesday.

“I know that there’s a lot going out right now that it was a suicide,” Pascarella tells omg!. “We haven’t confirmed that to any media outlets though.”

Pascarella also said Newton-John, 64, and her husband, 61-year-old herb company founder John Easterling, were not home at the time.

In a statement to ET, a rep for the singer said, “Olivia and her husband John are in shock over the tragic event that occurred at their Florida home yesterday. At this time we are awaiting additional information from investigators but, can confirm that the couple was not in Florida at the time and, the deceased was not a family member.”

Gossip Extra reports that Rosie O’Donnell has been interested in buying the house, which went on the market in May for $6.2 million.
