The “Material Girl’s” MDNA Tour topped all concert tours worldwide in ticket receipts in 2012, according to the concert industry’s leading business trade publication, Pollstar Friday.

“The elder statesmen of the music world, while no longer topping the charts or scoring radio hits, are doing well because their older audiences can afford to pay higher ticket prices”, Gary Bongiovanni, Pollstar editor, told Reuters.

Rounding out the top 5 were the genius behind “The Wall”, Pink Floyd founder, Roger Waters at $186 million in 72 shows, Coldplay at more than $171 million in 67 shows and Lady Gaga, who brought in more than $161 million from 80 shows.
