Lindsey Graham to receive ‘2014 Nathan Hale Patriot Award’ from Citadel club

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham (R) is scheduled to receive the 2014 Nathan Hale Patriot Award at a banquet in Charleston this Saturday, according to news from The Citadel this week.

The Citadel Republican Society will hold its annual Patriot Dinner on Sat., Jan. 25, at the Holliday Alumni Center, located at 69 Hagood Ave. in Charleston.

Graham is also slated to speak at the event. In addition to Graham’s award, WWII veterans will also be honored in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of D-Day, the allied forces invasion of Normandy, France.

The dinner raises money to support Citadel Republic Society cadets on their annual trip to the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C. The club is the Citadel’s largest, with more than 200 participating cadets.

Senator Graham is running for reelection of his Senate seat in South Carolina this year.

In 2012, former Pennsylvania Senator and presidential candidate, Rick Santorum took home the honors.
