Lindsey Graham, John Bolton and war with North Korea, Oh My!

While a push for diplomacy with the “Hermit Kingdom” roles on simultaneously with plans for potential military operations, two of the country’s biggest chickenhawks are actually encouraging war with the rogue nation, despite warnings from Army chief Gen. Mark Milley who said, it will be brutal “beyond the experience of any living soldier.”

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, the top neoconservative in the legislative body, said in an interview with CNN that “All the damage that would come from a war would be worth it in terms of long-term stability and national security”.

Graham’s foolish statement was responded to by Tommy Vietor, former NSC spokesman for President Obama, who tweeted that Graham–“lost his god damn mind”.

The despicable Graham, who was famous for trotting out in his Air Force uniform while a military lawyer while calling for military action with a number of countries, was clearly not a military member that donned a weapon fighting for the things he espouses.

The NY Times reported several years ago:

A campaign video, which features several photos of Mr. Graham in uniform, says he “served as a reserve duty officer in Iraq and Afghanistan.” In fact, Mr. Graham’s war zone tours consisted of specially arranged stints that lasted a few days and coincided with trips he made as part of congressional delegations.

In 1998, Mr. Graham was criticized for claiming to be a veteran of the Persian Gulf War, even though he never deployed as part of that campaign.

John Bolton

Former UN Ambassador, John Bolton, believe it or not, could be considered worse that the weasel-like Graham. Remember that the mustached machismo, Bolton  said about service in the Vietnam War– “I confess I had no desire to die in a Southeast Asian rice paddy”.

Neocon’s Bolton and Graham try to scare the American people into more military escapades

Last week, chickenhawk Bolton penned a horrible Op-Ed in the Wall Street Journal encouraging more immediate action:

“The threat is imminent, and the case against pre-emption rests on the misinterpretation of a standard that derives from prenuclear, pre-ballistic-missile times.

“Given the gaps in U.S. intelligence about North Korea, we should not wait until the very last minute. That would risk striking after the North has deliverable nuclear weapons, a much more dangerous situation.

“How long must America wait before it acts to eliminate that threat?”

Remember that this is the same guy on the short list to replace National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster if he departs.

The neocons have not disappeared, quite the contrary, they remain in the US Congress and lurking on the outer edges waiting for an opportunity to cement a foothold in the Trump Administration. This is why we must always keep an eye on these dangerous individuals.
