Libya: Mass grave found with over 30 dead Ethipian Christian bodies, murdered by Islamic State

(International Christian Concern) –The bodies of 34 Ethiopian Christians killed by ISIS militants in 2015 have been discovered in a mass grave in Sirte, Libya. Authorities located the mass grave as a result of evidence gathered from detained ISIS members.

In April 2015, ISIS posted a video of its militants executing 34 Ethiopian Christians who refused to renounce their Christian faith in Libya. The men were believed to have been traveling through Libya en route to Europe. Tens of thousands of African migrants have been leaving Africa via the Mediterranean Sea for Italy and other European destinations.

This was the second video of its kind. ISIS posted a similar video in which 20 Egyptian Christians and one Ghanaian Christian were executed on a beach for similar reasons.

If further investigations prove these 34 bodies are those of the men killed by ISIS in 2015, their bodies will be repatriated to Ethiopia. From there, the families of the victims will be able to finally lay the bodies of their loved ones to rest in their homeland.
