Liberty Counsel attacks GOP on Planned Parenthood funding in new budget

Congressional leaders say they reached an agreement yesterday on a spending bill that, if passed, will ensure that Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion mill, continues to receive federal funding through September.
Despite President Trump’s presidential promise to defund Planned Parenthood, weak Republican leaders caved to Democrat leaders to continue funding Planned Parenthood to the tune of about 330,000 abortions per year or 887 per day. Since 2004, Planned Parenthood has nearly doubled its federal funding to more than $550 million dollars per year, or about 40 percent of its annual revenue. While receiving $1.5 million per day in federal taxpayer money, breast exams and Pap smears have decreased by 60 to 77 percent. At the same time, abortions have increased by 27 percent.

Most of the proposed spending bill either does not include President Trump’s priorities, reduces them, or specifically goes against them.
“One has to wonder if the Democrats are the majority party in Congress. The Republican Congress lacks real leadership. They will pay the price for not leading,” said Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel. “Taxpayers should not be forced to fund human genocide and foot the bill for Planned Parenthood, that performs 887 abortions per day and profits from the sale of baby body parts,” said Staver. “We urge President Trump to keep his promise and we call on the Republican Congress to start leading and stop supporting failed policies. We must make the womb a safe place again in America,” said Staver.
Liberty Counsel represents Sandra Merritt, the journalist whose courageous undercover work exposed Planned Parenthood’s barbaric practices of harvesting organs from babies and selling them to StemExpress and other organ procurement organizations.
