Lee Strobel’s ‘Case for Christ’ live event set for April 6 in cinemas

Once an investigative journalist, now a Christian author and apologist, Lee Strobel went from resolute unbeliever to all-in Christ-follower. Depicted in his book, The Case for Christ, Strobel’s life-changing story is now portrayed in a full-length feature film, coming to cinemas this April.

The Case for Christ Live Event” premieres Strobel’s story on the big screen, along with an exclusive Q&A featuring Strobel, his wife Leslie and other special guests, broadcast live from Chicago, Illinois. This special, one-night event comes to movie theaters nationwide on Thursday, April 6, 2017 live at 8:00 p.m. ET, 7:00 p.m. CT, 6:00 p.m. MT, and tape-delayed to 8:00 p.m. PT, from Fathom Events and Pure Flix.

Tickets for “The Case for Christ Live Event” can be purchased online by visiting www.FathomEvents.com. Fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event in select movie theaters through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network (DBN). For a complete list of theater locations visit the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change).

In 1980, Strobel’s award-winning investigative reporting earned him a promotion to legal editor at the Chicago Tribune. However, life at home wasn’t going nearly as well. His wife Leslie’s newfound faith in Christ compelled Lee to utilize his journalistic and legal training to disprove the claims of Christianity – pitting his skepticism against her growing faith. Based on Strobel’s bestselling book of the same name, The Case for Christ is a dramatic and heartfelt telling of their compelling journey.

The Case for Christ has impacted the lives of numerous people around the world,” Fathom Events CEO John Rubey said. “This re-telling of Strobel’s journey of faith brings to life a story that has become hugely influential in the world of Christian apologetics today, and we are thrilled to be a part of its cinematic debut.”

“We believe Lee and Leslie Strobel’s real-life story, which led him to writing The Case For Christ, makes for a compelling movie,” said Michael Scott, CEO and co-founder of Pure Flix and a producer of the film. “What a privilege it will be for us and audiences to see them live on movie theater screens talking about their experiences.”
