Larry King joins Russian Cable news, RT, for ‘Politics with Larry King’

Larry King, the veteran television host, has joined RT, the Russian-based 24-hour cable news network.

The new show, called “Politics with Larry King” will debut in June. RT will also host “Larry King Now,” the show King launched on Hulu in July 2012. The programs will be recorded in Los Angeles and Washington.

“I would rather ask questions to people in positions of power, instead of speaking on their behalf. That’s why you can find my show, ‘Larry King Now,’ right here on RT,” King says in a new ad.

“I have always been passionate about government and issues that impact the public, and I’m thrilled at the opportunity to talk politics with some of the most influential people in Washington and around the country,” says King.

In a press release, RT called the new program “a mold-breaking political talk show.”

“Whether a president or an activist or a rock star was sitting across from him, Larry King never shied away from asking the tough questions, which makes him a terrific fit for our network,” says RT’s Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan.

King spent 25 years as the host of CNN’s “Larry King Live,” before stepping down in 2010. He then co-founded the production company Ora.TV with Mexican telecommunications magnate Carlos Slim two years later and began broadcasting on Hulu, the online video subscription service.

I DO NOT KNOW IF Global Dispatch staff/readers HAVE Googled MY NAME. IF YOU HAVE, YOU MAY KNOW I USED TO BE A PRODUCT-REVIEWER FOR Amazon.com. Cable News Network’s (CNN) Anchor, Don Lemon, WROTE A MEMOIR – “Transparent;” I WROTE A NEGATIVE REVIEW. I AM NOT A FAN OF, CNN. AS A CHILD, MY MOTHER LOVED THE ABC DAYTIME SERIALS “One Life To Live” AND “General Hospital.” SO, I FELL IN LOVE WITH ABC News. Handsome Peter Jennings WAS MY FAVORITE ANCHOR. AS A REPUBLICAN, I ALSO LOVE Fox News Sunday.

SOON AFTER 11 SEPTEMBER 2001, I WATCHED A BROADCAST OF CNN’s “Larry King Live.” ONE OF HIS GUESTS WAS, Jacque Reid, Anchor of Black Entertainment Television News. Ms. Reid MADE THE STATEMENT [sic], “Black people do not care about 9/11.” Mr. King AND THE OTHER CAUCASIAN PANELISTS REMAINED SILENT. AT THAT POINT I LOST RESPECT FOR Mr. King, AS A JOURNALIST, BECAUSE HE HAD A RESPONSIBILITY TO PROBE Ms. Reid’s STATEMENT. [This “war on terror” is a Caucasian issue because Caucasians refuse to try to understand, not only the position of Middle-Easterners, but also the position of colored people in THIS nation].

IT WAS MY UNDERSTANDING Mr. King HAD RETIRED. NOW, HE WANTS TO DO JOURNALISTIC WORK ON BEHALF OF THE RUSSIANS. I THOUGHT UNITED STATES OF AMERICA HAS A “NOT TOO FRIENDLY” RELATIONSHIP WITH RUSSIA. SO, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THIS Global Dispatch article IS A “PUFF-PIECE.” SHOULD Mr. King’s involvement IN THIS EXERCISE BE CONSIDERED ANTI-AMERICAN ACTIVITY? AND, WHY IS HE TELEVISING FROM LOS ANGELES AND WASHINGTON-DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA – THE SEAT OF OUR NATIONAL GOVERNMENT? I THOUGHT RUSSIA WAS AIDING THE NUCLEAR CAPABILITIES OF AMERICA’S ENEMIES.

IN OTHER WORDS, HAS UNITED STATES OF AMERICA LOST FOCUS OF, “WHO IS FRIEND OR FOE?” ….. AND, THAT INCLUDES, Mr. King.
