‘Kick-Ass’ star Aaron Taylor-Johnson may play Quicksilver in ‘Avengers 2’
Bryan Singer recently announced that Quicksilver would be in his own sequel, played by Evan Peters (American Horror Story) but different actor may be cast as the lightning fast mutant.
The Wrap reports that Marvel is interested in Taylor-Johnson for Quicksilver in The Avengers 2. Quicksilver is a mutant capable of moving and thinking at superhuman speeds and is the son of Magneto, along with his twin sister Scarlet Witch.
Kevin Feige recently explained how the characters could appear both in the Fox and Disney Marvel universes:
“We both have [Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch]. There’s a specific arrangement with those two characters that would allow us to use them with “Avengers,” but not discuss or reference their mutant or Magneto-related lineage. They can use them as mutants and as Magneto’s relatives, but cannot have anything to do with The Avengers.”
Marvel is still negotiating with Robert Downey Jr. to reprise his role as Iron Man in The Avengers 2. Other cast members expected to return include Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye.
Johnson, who is coming off of Oliver Stone’s Savages and Anna Karenina, will soon be seen in Universal’s Kick-Ass 2. He’s currently filming Godzilla for Legendary Pictures.
