KFC Philippines unveils ‘Mac and Cheese Bites’
Cheese lovers rejoice as KFC Philippines once again comes out with a new menu item, which is unusual and very cheesy, according to their Facebook page earlier this week.
For a mere 49 Philippine pesos (about $1.19), you can indulge in “5 Bite-sized treats with a crunchy outside and a delicious center filled with soft macaroni and creamy cheese.”
This unique snack idea follows this summer’s unveiling of the “Cheese Top Burger”, which is exactly as advertised- a slice of cheese melted on top of the bun.
The cheesy concoction, which can only be found in the Philippines, has received mixed reviews.
Rochelle Sy Chua of the HeaRty’s Haven blog, and a huge fan of KFC writes:
KFC Mac and Cheese Bites is crunchy on the outside and loaded on the inside with soft macaroni pasta and bits of bacon in cheese sauce! The cheesy taste was so strong that I’m sure cheese lovers won’t get enough it!
However, not everyone is this impressed. In fact, one guy is downright embarrassed:
One commenter of the KFC Philippines Facebook page says, “1st the cheese top, now this?? what’s next kfc Philippines? embarrass the country more. oh guys that mac nd cheese tastes really bad. it just look good in the pic.”
