Kenya: Pastor Abdul beaten by Muslims for work in Garissa

(International Christian Concern) –An underground pastor in Eastern Kenya was beaten unconscious late last Friday night, as reported by Morningstar News. According to the source, the pastor was on his way home after leading a prayer group when he was approached by a group of Local Somali Muslims. The group was angry about Pastor Abdul’s gospel work in the area and said that they had been following him. This is despite Pastor Abdul trying to do his work safely and quietly. Due to the attack, Pastor Abdul suffered a broken bone in his thigh, severe bruising over his body and is now in fear for his life and that of his family.

Pastor Abdul was doing his work in Garissa, which is a larger city in Eastern Kenya, that has been home to some of the worst persecution of Christians in Kenya. In 2015, Al-Shabaab, a Somali based terrorist organization, attacked the local university in Garissa. During that attack, they separated 148 students and workers from others because they were Christians. They then killed them for their faith. This hostile situation is where Pastor Abdul has been able to led and disciple 30 Muslim Background Believers.

Thankfully, after the attack, some local neighbors, took care of the pastor and rushed him to the hospital. At the time of the report, he was still admitted to the hospital and was in severe pain.
