The teen joins Demetrius Glenn, also 16, who will also face charges of 1st degree robbery and 1st degree murder. The pair beat Belton to death with a flashlight in a parking lot resulting in the man’s death the following morning.
Several other people with him have been arrested for rendering criminal assistance.
“He didn’t drive a big fancy car. He didn’t dress in expensive clothes. He didn’t have a lot of money. He had very little money,” daughter-in-law Barbara Belton told CNN. “What did they think they were going to get from this man?”
Belton survived an injury in the Battle of Okinawa and lived a quiet life according to friends and family.
The flashlight was found by police and Glenn reportedly has an injury to his hand. Glenn was transferred to the main jail for processing.
Chief Straub will hold a news conference later today.

Where’s the outcry from the ‘gun control’ people demanding tougher flashlight laws? If
we are going to have people killed by attackers using flashlights, I guess it’s time to have
all flashlights registered. After all, people don’t kill people, flashlights do!
If I had a son he’d look just like…
How long before we hear…. that can’t be my son, he’s a good boy.
I don’t hear Obamam making a comment about this killing.
