Kate Mara doesn’t know much about ‘The Fantastic Four,’ the comics, but trusts director
Fox has cast The Fantastic Four and little else is known, with countless rumors swirling across the Internet. One of those stars is Kate Mara, who spoke with IGN on Tuesday, is trusting leadership on the film, knowing little at this point.
“Well, I don’t know very much about it, which is weird but true!” begins Mara. “All I know is that it’s going to be a very different take on the film, which people may not expect.”
“I’m not really familiar with the comic books,” she continues. “I picked up a few when I got the part. I think we’re making a very grounded version of a superhero film. I trust Josh Trank’s vision as I was a huge fan of Chronicle.”
This new version of FF will be based on “The Ultimate Fantastic Four,” the contemporary update will focus on the characters as young men and women. Chronicle director Josh Trank will helm the pic with Simon Kinberg, Matthew Vaughn and Gregory Goodman serving as producers.
Jamie Bell, Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller co-star as the rest of Mara’s team with Toby Kebbell cast as Doctor Doom.
The Fantastic Four arrives in theaters June 19, 2015.
