‘Justified’ season 5 teaser offers little insight into Timothy Olyphant returning as Raylan Givens

The first Justified season 5 teaser has landed online, and it offers up a crow, some blood and Raylan’s iconic Stetson.

Michael Rapaport has joined the cast to portray the Florida-based Crowe clan patriarch Dale Jr., while Friday Night Lights vet Alicia Witt will play a paralegal and public face of the Crowe crime family.

X-Men: First Class star Edi Gathegi will take the role of Haitian criminal and Crowe employee Jean Baptiste, a former member of the Haitian secret police.

Meanwhile Boyd Crowder is desperate to get Ava out of prison and enact revenge on Lee Paxton, played by LOST star Sam Anderson, Sheriff Mooney and Johnny Crowder (David Meunier).

Season 4 left Raylan looking forward to a potential promotion and the long-awaited birth of his daughter, while showrunner Graham Yost previously expressed a desire to craft a new means of driving the character action beside the big bad and mystery approaches already used in recent seasons.

Justified season 5 teaser begins with the January 7 premiere

I love the way these teasers are going. The image of the crow is great and gets me more and more excited each time I see one. There was one though I thought was really cheap looking. Raylan approaches a shack and a whole bunch of crows burst out the window. That was cheap but I loved it at the same time. January 7th can’t come fast enough.
