‘Jurassic Park 4’ renamed to ‘Jurassic World’ and set for 2015
Universal has made a couple of announcements regarding its forthcoming Jurassic Park sequel, with the project getting both a new title and release date.
The fourth film in the series will now be known as Jurassic World, and is set to land in US cinemas on June 12, 2015, just confirming a busy and epic summer schedule.
Plot details were not released but the initial screenplay was set to tell the story of a new park built on Isla Nublar.
Director Colin Trevorrow is said to have performed significant rewrites on the original draft by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.
This fourth film has endured years and years of delays, miscommunication and problems. Steven Spielberg’s role in the production appears to be very limited or non-existant.
Trevorrow has confirmed a new dinosaur and attributes some of the delays under his leadership to efforts to please the fans.
“It’s important to make a movie for the fans but I also have to remember that there’s a lot of people who just couldn’t care less and need me to make a solid case for why the hell there’s a Jurassic Park 4 in the first place and I want to make a movie for them too,” he said last month.
