Juma Hassan, Misaid Athman: Husband and wife charged in terrorist attack on Kenyan church
A husband and wife have been charged for the shooting attack on Joy in Jesus Church Likoni which left six dead and injured 15 others.
AllAfrica detailed this morning that Juma Hassan and his wife Misaid Athman were in the Mombasa law courts yesterday and officially charged with the terrorist act.
Likoni police station CID officers said the couple was found with several training notes written in Swahili, English and Arabic at their residential home at Vijiweni in Likoni. These notes were “articles meant for carrying out terrorism acts,” the officials claim.
Prosecutor Ngina Mutua said police recovered nine DVDs in the couple’s home. She said the DVDs advocate for jihad while others contain paramilitary training.
The attack prompted a shoot-to-kill order by Mombasa county commissioner Nelson Marwa.
The ruling will be delivered today.
