Judy Greer confirmed for ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’

Ant-Man and the Wasp is currently shooting in Atlanta, Georgia and the new film will have plenty of new faces: Michelle Pfeiffer and Laurence Fishburne were recently revealed at San Diego Comic-Con and now Judy Greer will be back as Maggie Lang.

According to Deadline, Greer is adding the Marvel sequel to her list of promising upcoming projects, which includes Richard Linklater’s Where’d You Go Bernadette (an excellent book) and Clint Eastwood’s 15:17 To Paris. Whether Maggie Lang is a more prominent role in Ant-Man and the Wasp is unknown.

Maggie Lang was a minimal supporting role in the first movie, starring alongside Paxton (Bobby Cannavale) and would seem like that Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang is trying to spend more time with his daughter. Abby Ryder Forston (Cassie Lang), helped make the father-daughter relationship feel integral to Ant-Man, will be certain to return as well.

Rudd (Scott Lang/Ant-Man) returns with Evangeline Lilly (Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp) and Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), T.I. aka Tip Harris (Dave), David Dastmalchian (Kurt) and Michael Pena (Luis).

Director Peyton Reed‘s (Down with Love) will now use Pfeiffer as the original Wasp, Janet van Dyne. “She was our dream choice when we were making the first film,” Marvel President Kevin Feige said at Comic-Con.

Randall Park is joining the MCU as SHIELD agent, Jimmy Woo, and Laurence Fishburne is playing a villain, Dr. Bill Foster.

Also added is Hannah John-Kamen, she’s playing Ghost, while Walton Goggins is taking on the role of a weapons designer, Sonny Burch.

Judy Greer can currently be seen on the big screen as the ape Cornelia in the action sequel War for the Planet of the Apes.

Ant-Man and the Wasp will be arriving in theaters on July 6, 2018.
