Joss Whedon confirms Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver as ‘huge part’ of ‘Avengers 2’ film
Ever since it was reported that the character of Quicksilver had been cast in both The Avengers 2 and X-Men: Days Of Future Past, speculation in fan circles thought that the roles could or would be connected between the two very different franchises.
Joss Whedon was passionate to announce Quicksilver as one of his new characters, alongside his sister Scarlet Witch, and the director maintains that the two characters remain integral to his plans.
“It’s a huge part of the movie,” said Whedon to Crave Online, when asked about how Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver fit into his story. “I’m really excited about it and I don’t know what they’re doing [on X-Men].”
“I’m determinedly not knowing,” he continues. “They’ll do their thing, I have to do mine.”
While Evan Peters has been cast in Bryan Singer’s film, The Avengers 2 has yet to confirm any new names, although Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Saoirse Ronan have been strongly linked.
X-Men: Days Of Future Past will open in the May 23, 2014, with The Avengers 2 following on May 1, 2015.
