John Lennon Glasses: President Obama retweets photo of Lennon’s bloodied glasses

A disturbing picture of John Lennon’s bloodied glasses is being utilized as a tool in the White House’s arsenal to ban guns.

On March 20th, Yoko Ono tweeted a photo of her former husband’s bloodied glasses (see screenshot below).

In just two short days, the photo has been retweeted more than 13,000 times, one of which that came from President of the United States, Barack Obama’s personal Twitter account. Ironically, all of this comes just a day after Nevada Senator Harry Reid decided to pull the plug on California Senator Feinstein’s aggressive assault weapons ban.

Despite the failure of Sen. Feinstein’s weapon’s ban assault bill, the White House has been on an anti-gun campaign fueled by the Newtown Massacre. On Thursday, Vice-President Joe Biden met with Mayor Bloomberg in New York, along with Newtown families, pronouncing how dangerous guns are.

“For all those who say we shouldn’t and can’t ban assault weapons,” said Biden. “How can they say that? Take a look at those 20 beautiful babies.”

This statement comes just a month after it was reported that DHS was planning on purchasing approximately 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition over the next five years.

Lennon was shot four times by Mark David Chapman outside of The Dakota Apartment building in New York City on Dec. 8, 1980.

Don’t you think that number would be considerably higher if guns were not used to protect individuals as well? I’m willing to bet if we tracked the number of people saved by guns it would be a more staggering number, just a thought
