Jessica Ridgeway killer, ‘toothless and ugly’ still atlarge
Jessica Ridgeway hasn’t yet been laid to rest and the killer is still at large, but an expert criminologist and psychiatrist Park Dietz offered insight on the case and what kind of suspect officials should be looking for.

Westminster Police Department released this photo of missing 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway on Tuesday, Oct. 9. (Provided by the Westminster Police Department)
First of all, Dietz offered his insight on the appearance of the potential suspect; he would be “ugly and toothless.”
Dietz appears to have a mental image of a scraggly, unsophisticated, poor and stupid criminal—an aged ghoul, if you will.
Though it should also be pointed out that suspects do often deviate from the statistical norm. The murder of Jorelys Rivera, for instance, was perpetrated by a young and “good-looking” man of under 25.
The Former FBI chief of Behavioral Sciences, Roger Depew, believes that the backpack and water bottle that was found belonging to the girl was planted. This has been the growing sentiment since before the girl’s remains were found. Depew, and other officials, feel that the girl’s killer is taunting investigators and playing games with them.
“Child abduction, first of all, is an outrageous crime,” ABC News FBI consultant Brad Garrett said. “But then when the perpetrator actually kills a child, that is so above the pale, you’re going to get people maybe to come forward that wouldn’t normally.”
FBI profilers believe the suspect that they are hunting is likely male and might have recently missed work or suddenly left town. He might have changed his appearance or gotten rid of his car, profilers said.
“The sicko is out here, still,” Westminster resident Shanna Pearsy said. “Who knows where he is at but we need to find him.”
If the parents can possibly add a little different level of protection right now until this situation is resolved, I think that would be warranted. Anyone that’s capable of an act like this, it may be just the beginning,” Former Colorado FBI Special Agent Bob Pence told WPTV.
