Jersey man, Andre ‘Boogie’ Thompson arrest, Jordan Johnson’s body in car trunk

Police have arrested a Fort Lee New Jersey man in connection with a body found in the trunk of a car in the Bronx last month.

Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli said Andre Jamal Thompson, a.k.a. Boogie, was arrested and charged with felony murder for the homicide of Jordan Johnson.

Back on Jan. 14 the police were notified by Johnson’s girlfriend that their apartment had been burglarized and Jordan may have been kidnapped.

The next day, Johnson’s vehicle was found in the Bronx, and his body was found in the trunk. A subsequent autopsy determined the manner of death to be homicide.

Police say the investigation revealed that Thompson, 25, lured the victim to an apartment he sometimes utilized in Fort Lee.

According to prosecutors, the victim was subsequently assaulted, “relieved of his phone, keys and vehicle and ultimately killed.”

Johnson’s phone was used to send text messages to his girlfriend, luring her from their apartment. After she left, the apartment was burglarized of jewelry, cash and other items. Thompson allegedly fled the state within hours of the homicide.

Detectives located “Boogie” in a hotel in Laurel, Maryland, and on February 4, at approximately 7 a.m., detectives executed a search warrant on that hotel room and found Thompson.

He was initially arrested on an outstanding warrant from Worcester, Massachusetts, but after conducting interviews, authorities charged Thompson with murder, robbery and burglary.

Bail was set at $2 million.

The investigation is continuing, and additional arrests may occur, the authorities added.
