Jeph Loeb explains how ‘Jessica Jones’ ‘Daredevil’ ‘Agent Carter’ and Marvel shows come together

Marvel fans may be excited to learn more on how Jessica Jones and Daredevil will fit together in the Netflix-Marvel TV universe. Entertainment Tonight has an extensive interview with Jeph Loeb, the key decision maker on Marvel’s television programs, exposing the potential crossovers between Daredevil and Jessica Jones.

“Without giving anything away, they’re in the same area. In some cases they are in the same neighborhood. One of the things that is important to us is, when you enter the police station, it’s the same police station. When you go to the hospital, you start to see the same people. [But] we don’t want people suddenly going, ‘Wait, is that Matt Murdock that’s walking down the street?’ Because that’s going to feel odd, and in a weird way feel false.”

Marvel has found great success in adding Easter Eggs and cameos without it being forceful or distracting. Loeb’s comments just cement the introduction of new characters and expansion of their “TV universe” with a bigger picture in mind.

“Look, we make shows that are best for the character. We don’t ever start from, ‘Who’s the show for?’ I think that makes us a little bit different,” Loeb explained to ET.

“So yes, if you look at the shows that we’re doing, S.H.I.E.L.D. is not the same as Carter is not the same as Daredevil is not the same as Jessica Jones. They shouldn’t be. And wait till you get a hold of Luke Cage.”

Krysten Ritter has been cast as Jones with Mike Colter playing Luke Cage. Former Doctor Who star David Tennant is playing a villain named Kilgrave. Carrie-Anne Moss, Rachael Taylor, Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty and Susie Abromeit also star.

Charlie Cox will be joined by Walking Dead’s Jon Bernthal, who will play Punisher. Vincent D’Onofrio, Rosario Dawson, Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson are all returning to reprise their roles from season 1.

Jessica Jones is expected to premiere in late 2015. Daredevil Season 2 will be release in 2016.
