Jay Carney, White House calls GOP plan ‘magic beans and fairy dust’ VIDEO
While negotiations on the budget crisis, nicknamed the “fiscal cliff,” appear to be stalled, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney may have fueled more devision by calling the GOP plan “magic beans and fairy dust.”
One reporter asked how there could be good government when Speaker of the House John Boehner puts a plan on the table and the White House calls it ridiculous. “Where’s the leadership,” he asked.
“He put a couple of sentences on, that’s not a plan,” answered Carney.
Carney says the GOP plan is lacking specificity. “We don’t know who pays. We don’t know what we’re talking about in terms of actual legislation to increase revenues,” he said.
When questioned about the “magic beans and fairy dust” comment, Carney backtracked saying there was more detail on spending cuts than on increasing revenue.
