Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana’s Custody Battle is About to Heat Up

Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana’s custody battle is about to get ugly, sources close to the matter say.

The 50-year-old singer announced last month that she’s splitting from Wissam Al Mana, her husband of five years. The couple welcomed baby Eissa into the world in January.

An insider told Radar that Wissam isn’t going away without a fight. “Janet’s ex, Wissam Al Mana, isn’t going away without a fight,” the source said. “He is rich and powerful and understands the media as well as she does. If it’s a public battle that she wants, she needs to be careful.”

Rumors of the brewing custody battle surfaced after Janet’s ex was photographed at a park in London with their son. Wissam, who is usually a private person, was accused of staging the photos to make himself look like the perfect data, sources say.

Janet has also posted a photo of her and Eissa on Twitter after being absent on the social media platform for five months.

Experts say the paparazzi photos of Wissam look staged.

A potential custody battle is just the start of complications in the couple’s divorce proceedings. Rumors have been swirling that Janet stands to gain hundreds of millions of dollars in the divorce from her billionaire husband.

Wissam is head of the Al Mana Group, which specializes in luxury fashion, goods, jewelry and watches. The 42-year-old businessman’s net worth is estimated to be $1 billion.

Janet and Wissam were wed in 2012 in a secret ceremony. The two kept their marriage a secret for a year before confirming their wedding to the public. The couple maintained a private life in the coming years, with Janet only making headlines for rumors that she converted to Islam and was with child.

Recent reports allege that Janet and Wissam separated shortly after she gave birth to Eissa.

Now, the couple’s divorce may be complicated not only by a child custody battle, but by the terms of their prenuptial agreement.

A report from Page Six alleges that Janet stands to gain $200 million in her divorce thanks to her prenup agreement with Wissam. The terms of the agreement, the report says, entitles Janet to $100 million if they stay married for five years and an additional $100 million if the couple has a child.

Sources told Page Six that Janet had grown tired of “being the obedient Muslim wife.”

“She thought he had become too controlling during pregnancy and she had already allowed him to dictate her appearance and even the way she performed at concerts,” another source said. “It drove her crazy and she felt she was losing her fan base.

Wissam had allegedly demanded that Janet tone down her 2014 concert and wear clothing that covered her entire body.

Rumors that the custody battle for Eissa are still just that – rumors. Neither Janet nor Wissam have commented on the rumors. The couple’s private nature may make it difficult to learn much about their split until after the fact.
