Jaimie Alexander confirms she is returning to Thor 2 as Sif

Jamie Alexander, who played the Asgardian warrior Sif in Thor, has confirmed her return in the sequel during an interview with MTV yesterday.

“Thor 2” has had a turbulent pre-production with the directors changing, the writers being added as the script gets re-written. Most recently is the news that Robert Rodat will take a shot at adapting the Norse God for a second film.

Alexander, while promoting her latest project “Loosies”, she spoke about returning as Sif.

“I’m a comic book nerd at heart, so I’d like to see the relationship between Thor and Sif progress. Whether or not they do that, we’re not sure yet. We’ll see. I think that element will be in there, but I don’t know how much.”

Alexander’s costar Tom Hiddleston, who played Loki, confirmed that filming will begin this summer in London, and Loki will be back. So, obviously, fans need to know for sure – will Sif be back?

“Yeah, I’ve had a few discussions about Thor 2. Definitely going to be a part of it, so that will be fun. And we just got Alan Taylor from Game of Thrones to direct, so I’m very excited. I’m excited to see what he brings. He’s got a great history of directing comedic bits and then action bits and that’s something our movie definitely has.”

Fans have been murmuring with the notion that Sif may also make a cameo appearance in 2012’s “The Avengers”.

Alexander responded with a coy “I can’t tell you.”

So, maybe.
