Jackie Chan, Dave Franco, Michael Pena headlines ‘LEGO Ninjago’ cast, synopsis revealed
After The LEGO Movie hit theaters to rave reviews and a big box office draw so the studio has fast tracked other spin-offs: The LEGO Batman Movie and the Ninjago movie, a film based on the “Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitsu” toys.
Fans get an update via BrickSet.com, revealing the full voice cast for the film based on the catalog for the 2016 Licensing Expo. Here’s the line-up: Jackie Chan is Master Wu, Dave Franco is Lloyd, Michael Peña is Kai, Abbi Jacobson is Nya, Kumail Nanjiani is Jay, Zach Woods is Zane and Fred Armisen is Cole.
Their info also provided a synopsis for the film.
“Ninjago is the story of six young ninja tasked with defending their island home, called Ninjago. By night, they’re gifted warriors, using their skills and awesome fleet of vehicles to fight villains and monsters. By day, they’re ordinary teens struggling against their greatest enemy: high school.”
Dan and Kevin Hageman, the writers behind the Ninjago TV series on Cartoon Network, penned the screenplay with Bryan Shukoff and Kevin Chesley. TRON: Uprising’s Charlie Bean is directing the film with Phil Lord and Chris Miller producing.
