Israel confirms airstrike on Syria, target unclear

While Pentagon officials gathered Friday to figure out what to do about Syria and the reported use of chemical weapons, Israeli airplanes struck a target in Syria, although it still is not clear what it was.

The Associated Press reports the airstrike Friday morning was targeting a shipment of advanced missiles bound for the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.

However, a US official, who declined to be identified, told Reuters on Friday the air strike apparently targeted a building and not a convoy.

The officials say the shipment was not of chemical arms, but of “game changing” weapons bound for Hezbollah. They say the airstrike was early Friday. They did not say where it took place.

YnetNews reports the airstrike was approved in a secret meeting of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s security cabinet on Thursday night, the official said on condition of anonymity.

The Syrian ambassador to the United Nations said he was not aware of an attack.

A top Israeli defense official dismissed the confirmation of the Friday strike, but not the strike itself.

“I don’t know what or who confirmed what, who are these sources?” asked Amos Gilad, a senior strategist in the ministry. “In my book only the [military] spokesperson unit is official.”

It is unclear if the use of chemical weapons in Syria was a ‘false-flag’ attack… What is
clear that scores of Christians have been killed by Islamic terrorists in Syria!! And is the
U.S. being pushed into another war in the Mideast?
In a 4/29/13 report on VeteransToday.com, “Caught, Israel orchestrating world war,”
diabolical plans, laying the groundwork for Armageddon, are apparently underway by Israel involving “the Zionists, the Neocons, and the Dominionists, a vast worldwide network of financial criminals, corrupt politicians and power-mad tyrants.”
