Islamists Boko Haram murder 29 in Borno attacks
Boko Haram terrorists attacked and killed at least 29 people in the Dille community and other surrounding villages of Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno State. Many others were also injured from gun shot wounds.
The terrorists, armed with AK-47 rifles and petrol bombs stormed Dille, a predominantly Christian community that had witnessed series of deadly attacks in recent times.
Boko Haram insurgents has previously invaded the same village, but now they killed 14 residents and burnt down three churches including Church of Brethren in Nigeria (EYN) which has the highest number of worshippers in the area.
In a separate attack on Kopa Mai Kadir and Yazza villages of Askira Uba, the Nigerian Tribune reports that the Sunni Muslim terrorists killed 15 people before sacking the whole communities.
Those who escapes from the attacks told Tribune “that the insurgents invaded Dille with sophisticated weapons in a convoy of five Hilux vehicles and motorcycles.”
Mallam Paul Ali Dille, a resident who escaped the attack, said the death toll would have been higher but many residents who quickly noticed the invasion of the terrorists had to run out of Dille to nearby bushes.
