India: 89 Hindu pilgrims killed in stampede in Madhya Pradesh
Fears of a bridge collapse in the central state of Madhya Pradesh caused a panic and subsequent stampede that left at least 89 people dead and about a hundred more injured.

CNN reports the incident occurred on a bridge over the Sindh River while pilgrims were headed to the temple for a Hindu festival.
“The death toll could go much higher as about 25,000 people were present on the bridge at that time,” said D.K. Arya, a local deputy police inspector.
About a half-million worshipers, according to estimates, had flocked to the Ratangarh Temple in northern Madhya Pradesh State for a religious festival.
The bridge, which is 23 feet wide, was thought to be collapsing when a section of railing broke, sparking the panic.
The New York Times reports that there were conflicting reports about the start of the crush on Sunday. Some witnesses said the police had initiated it by charging into the crowd swinging canes, but police officials denied the reports.
Others said a group of pilgrims had intentionally spread a rumor that the bridge was about to collapse, in the hope of cutting the long line of people waiting to cross. Still others said that they had heard that the bridge had been hit by a tractor and was unstable.
The Madhya Pradesh government has opened a judicial inquiry into the causes of the stampede.
Mass deaths occur often at pilgrimages in India, when vast, dense crowds put heavy burdens on transportation and safety infrastructure.
The rumors that a bridge to a temple they were standing on was collapsing that caused the stampede in Madhya Pradesh killing over a hundred were spread by RAW (see WhatYouShouldKnowAboutRAWDOTblogspotDOTcom ) in response to the following comment of mine and in support of the Italian woman so the Italian woman could express “condolences” over the stupid behavior of the inferior Indian niggers.
