If Donald Trump were to appoint Judge Napolitano to the Supreme Court
A little over two weeks ago, Fox News Senior Judicial Analyst, Judge Andrew P. Napolitano met with President-elect Donald Trump for a about an hour at Trump Tower. According to the Judge during an interview with Fox Business host, Stuart Varney, “The President-elect has begun to concentrate on the selection of a nominee to replace Justice Scalia on the Supreme Court.
“He was interested in a broad range of ideas and attitudes about the type of person to best fill Justice Scalia’s seat. That is essentially what we spoke about in the hour I was privileged to spend with him.”
Napolitano goes on to say it was a “free-wheeling” conversation involving numerous topics; however, “the vast bulk of what we spoke about was the intellectual, ideological, and temperamental qualities that he should seek in a replacement for Justice Scalia.”
Of course the news of Judge Napolitano meeting the President-elect was thrilling to liberty-loving Americans who see the Judge as one of the greatest modern voices for liberty, freedom and the Constitution.
This included libertarian stalwart and editor of the website, lewrockwell.com, Lew Rockwell. During an interview on the Tom Woods Show last week, Rockwell discussed his thoughts on the meeting.
“Judge Andrew P. Napolitano was seen going into Trump Tower. We don’t exactly know the discussions he had with Trump and the transition people.
“Was it he was being consulted about the sorts of people to be appointed to the Supreme Court?, that was one report. Was it he is being considered for the Supreme Court? Or is it both?”
“To think that he is going to have anything to do in this area, or even just be listened to seriously is very thrilling. A friend of mine said, if Trump appoints Judge Napolitano to the Supreme Court, he will already be the greatest pro-freedom President in many, many decades.”
