‘Hunger Games Catching Fire’ star Liam Hemsworth set as lead in ‘Cut Bank’
The all-star cast for the new thriller Cut Bank grew this week as Liam Hemsworth joined the all-star cast as the production was set to begin.
The Kilburn Media film already stars John Malkovich, Billy Bob Thornton, Teresa Palmer, Bruce Dern, Oliver Platt and Michael Stuhlbarg in the pic that is serving as the feature directorial debut of Matt Shakman (Mad Men, Six Feet Under).
Cut Bank is a script by Sons Of Anarchy‘s Roberto Patino, centering on 25-year-old Dwayne McLaren (Hemsworth), a former-athlete-turned-auto-mechanic who dreams of getting out of Cut Bank, MT, the coldest town in America. But his efforts to do so set in motion a deadly series of events that change his life and the character of the town forever.
Production began this week in Edmonton. It is produced by Laura Rister.
Liam Hemsworth can next be seen starring alongside Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman and Amber Heard in corporate espionage thriller Paranoia.
Hemsworth will return as Gale Hawthorne this fall in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the second film in the series.
