‘Hunger Games Catching Fire’ star Alan Ritchson cast as Raphael in ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle’ reboot

With Megan Fox locked in as April O’Neil, Paramount added the actor to play one of the Turtles in the new live-action and CGI reboot for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.

alan_ritchson_smallville_aquaman Deadline reported in a March 22 article that Alan Ritchson has been cast as Raphael. Ritchson will be playing the deadly dagger-wielding male tribute from District One in the upcoming The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Ritchson turned heads as an underwear model before landing the Aquaman role on Smallville.

While the details are still under wraps, but Michael Bay’s influence on the Jonathan Liebesman directed film, will likely result in an Avatar-style CGI Turtle effect.

Ninja Turtles will open in theaters on May 16, 2014.
