How to Look Your Best on Your Wedding Day

Planning a wedding takes time. Often the big day is booked well over a year in advance and you are immediately confronted with a long checklist of things to organise. In addition to the venue, photographer, celebrant, flowers, music, cars and jewellery, there is also the bride’s own preparation to think about!

If you want to look your best on your wedding day, there are a few beauty routines you should start straight away.

Make these a priority to help you look and feel your very best:

Get your skin under control

With all eyes on you, and plenty of photographs being snapped, you will feel like a movie star on your wedding day. Let your skin stand out by starting a new ritual as far in advance as you can.

If you are in New South Wales, get to know your local spa in Sydney to create a plan to get your skin in perfect condition. When going to a spa in Sydney this will ensure you are more relaxed and your skin is glowing.

Continue this routine at home focusing on products which offer hydration. Rosehip oil is one option which you can use every day.

If you have specific skin concerns which you would like addressed, allow plenty of time for this to happen. This could be having a mole removed, fixing acne scarring or even minimising those wrinkles!

Focus on hair removal

Hair removal is something you will want to schedule the week before the big day, but may still need to be planned in advance. Often people will opt for a series of laser hair removal treatments which allows them to remain hair-free for their honeymoon.

Your brows will be visible, so choose an experienced eyebrow technician and stick with them. Experiment with tinting and find the perfect shape for your face. If you choose to leave this until the day before the wedding, you may be disappointed with the results.

Try out the fake tan

A fake tan will make you look slimmer, and works well when paired with a crisp white dress. If you are opting for a fake tan, make sure you have your trial prior to the big day.

You will be disappointed if you wake up bright orange so it is crucial you know what to expect. The trial could be done for your engagement party or hen’s night which will allow you to see how it is portrayed in photos.

For your pre-wedding spray tan, book an appointment two days before to give it to time to settle. If it isn’t dark enough for your liking, this gives you additional time to enhance and fix the shade. Keep your skin in optimum shape by exfoliating regularly and applying a daily body lotion.

Build a relationship with your hairdresser

It is never a good idea to change hairdressers right before the day of your wedding. Instead, find someone who you trust and discuss your wedding hair goals. It is even better if they are confident to style your hair for the day.

Many brides-to-be want to grow their hair, and regular visits to your hairdresser will support you to do this. If you are having trouble growing your hair, you may even choose to have hair extensions for your hen’s day and wedding.

Hit the gym

The sooner you can start working out, the better! Get your bridal party involved for some extra motivation and sign up to your nearest gym. Not only will your body fit nicely in your dress, but you will have more energy.

Try boxing classes, yoga and cycling for a tight, toned body. If you are time poor, and can’t make it to the gym – work out at home! Pay attention to what you are eating, and try to add more fresh fruits and vegetables into your diet. Moderation is key.

Don’t forget your hands and feet!

Your hands and feet will be on display, and your new wedding ring is sure to appear in multiple wedding photographs. If your hands are particularly dry, use a hand cream every day to improve their condition.

Give your feet some extra attention in the months leading up to your wedding by exfoliating and moisturising regularly. Spoil yourself with a manicure and pedicure the day before for picture perfect nails. You can choose from acrylics, gel or natural nails.

Final Thoughts

Your wedding day is a celebration of your love, and is something you will remember fondly. All brides want to look their best, but you should enjoy the pampering without putting too much pressure on yourself. Enjoy the journey and we wish you all the best for your future together.
