House investigates Planned Parenthood, ADF ‘not one more penny should go to PP’

Alliance Defending Freedom Senior Counsel Casey Mattox and ADF Legal Counsel Kellie Fiedorek will be available for media interviews immediately following the first in a series of hearings examining the abortion practices of Planned Parenthood. The House Judiciary Committee has been investigating the organization’s practices since the Center for Medical Progressreleased numerous undercover videos that depict the abortion giant illegally harvesting fetal baby parts.
“American taxpayer money should fund local community health centers, not a scandal-plagued, billion-dollar corporation,” said Mattox. “Thousands of real community health centers can be trusted with our hard-earned money. Planned Parenthood has proven for decades that it can’t be trusted, whether it’s because of misusing taxpayer dollars in their billing practices, failing to report statutory rape, or trafficking in baby parts. No organization like this is entitled to public funding. The only thing it’s entitled to is a federal investigation.”
The hearing will examine laws surrounding late-term abortions, the harvesting of fetal organs, and the rights of unborn babies.
“Not one more penny should go to Planned Parenthood, an organization that puts profit and political power ahead of women’s health,” added Fiedorek. “Planned Parenthood receives hundreds of millions of dollars every year from the government and then spends millions to keep people in office who will continue to provide them with the money. Last year, Planned Parenthood made a $127 million profit courtesy of the American people. It’s time to end taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood.” (#DefundPP)
