A statement released by Showtime entertainment president David Nevins recently says, “Homeland continues to prove its strength for Showtime, and is one of television’s most exciting, provocative and widely-discussed shows. It has grown its audience significantly in each of its three seasons.”
That translates to: “Nothing is going to change…”
“… it became clear Claire’s Carrie had to send her soulmate someplace he wasn’t going to come back from,” explained Gansa about Brody’s demise, prompting this from Danes: Brody was actually “broken in a way he couldn’t be mended.”
Gansa has said that Saul “figures into the narrative in a very, very important way” and Carrie’s bipolar disorder will also influence the series.
In a recent interview, Danes said, “I think (the child) is going to be a big theme for her emotionally,” adding, “I think she probably escapes into her job. I think she hurls herself at it as a way to avoid some unresolved, very painful feelings to do with Brody.”
Gansa assured fans that they are planning to present a “compelling narrative from beginning to end.”
