Hillary Clinton’s ‘What difference does it make’ will be played for years to come FULL TRANSCRIPT
Described as “combative and emotional,” Secretary of State Clinton said Wednesday that she responded quickly to the Sept. 11 attack in Libya and took responsibility for mistakes that led to the deaths of the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans.
Clinton said she suspected almost immediately the attack in Benghazi, Libya, was terrorism — but she took issue with criticism of UN Ambassador Susan Rice, who had suggested otherwise five days after the attack.
Her voice rising, Clinton dueled with Republican Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, who alleged Rice purposely misled the public and that Clinton was also to blame.
“With all due respect, the fact is we had 4 dead Americans,” Clinton said before her sound bite “What difference at this point does it make?” was uttered.
FULL TRANSCRIPT:
SENATOR JOHNSON: Again, again we were mislead that there were supposedly protests and something then sprang out of that, an assault sprang out of that, and that was easily ascertained that that was not the fact, and the American people could’ve known that within days and they didn’t know that.
HILLARY CLINTON: With all due respect, the fact is we had 4 dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided they’d go kill some Americans? What difference at this point does it make? It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again Senator.

Chris Matthews on Sen Rob Johnson questioning of Sec Clinton:
…that was kind of a pissant performance by that guy from Wisconsin. I don’t know how these guys get over the wall into American politics. I think they won in a very low turnout elections in Wisconsin. I think everybody should run now in national elections, forced to vote, go into elections where there’s a lot of voters so you don’t get this weird warped sense of people coming who supposedly represent the American electorate. That guy doesn’t represent anybody.
