Henry Cavill on ‘Man of Steel,’ says ‘I love wearing the suit’
The April 2013 edition of Total Film magazine (issue #204) features an exclusive interview with Henry Cavill about “Man of Steel”.
In the interview Cavill talks about getting into shape for the role of Superman, discussions on sequels and spin-offs, and what other movies he’d like to be part of after “Man of Steel”.
“I loved wearing the suit! You put it on every morning and you feel fantastic. I mean, you’re wearing a Superman suit, for goodness sake!”
It is rather tight fitting.
“It took the team about 15 minutes each day. They struggled hard… let’s just say we became very close!”.
The “Tudors” star discussed working director Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen, Sucker Punch) to find the right vision for a new Superman film.
“This is not a movie about Zack Snyder directing something, or Henry Cavill playing a character… it’s a selfless movie about a character who is going through what he is going through. He wants to do the right thing, but he’s fallible, like the rest of us. He messes up, and that makes us love him more.”
The fate of a Justice League film appears to hinge on the opening of Man of Steel and Cavill goes on to pretty much confirm: “A decision’s being made [on Justice League] I’m sure, post-opening weekend!”
Fans of “Fifty Shades of Grey” want Cavill in the coveted role of Christian Grey, but there has been little news on the film.
“Fifty Shades Of Grey is… erm… it’s all rumours at this stage.” laughed Cavill. “I haven’t got a script or an offer or anything. If I do, that decision would be made when the time comes.”

Man of Steel is set for release on June 14th, with a cast that includes Amy Adams (The Muppets) as Lois Lane, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Michael Shannon (Boardwalk Empire) as General Zod, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Diane Lane (Secretariat) as Martha Kent, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White.
Meanwhile Justice League is currently without a writer, after Warner Bros pulled the plug on Will Beall’s (Gangster Squad) “terrible” script earlier this month.
