Hartford police identify Joshua Steele and Kevin Campbell as victims killed in house party shooting
Hartford Police said they are investigating a shooting that left two men dead and a third injured.
The shooting happened outside of a crowded house party at 267 Hillside Ave. around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday morning after the activation of ShotSpotter. Hartford Police Lt. Paul Cicero identified the two deceased men are Joshua Steele, 28, of Hartford and Kevin Campbell, 34, of Windsor.
A third victim, Alex Roman, 24, of Hartford, was shot in the foot and called 911. Roman was met by police a few blocks away and officials added that the injury was non-life-threatening.

Police believe the three shooting victims were specifically targeted and officers are working on developing suspects. They added there were 14 shots fired during the incident.
Detectives spent hours searching for clues and are continuing to search for the suspect. When police arrived, they found “a lot of pandemonium, a lot of chaos,” Cicero said.
“There were speakers out there. There were cups and food and liquor in the house. Obviously, it wasn’t a specific incident of several people meeting up. It was a large party, so what happened there we are going to try to piece that together,” said Cicero.
There have been 18 homicides in Hartford during 2018.
