‘Gunday’ star, Ranveer Singh, stricken with dengue fever

Bollywood star, Ranveer Singh has has been admitted to a Mumbai hospital reportedly diagnosed with the mosquito borne viral disease, dengue fever, according to an IndiaGlitz report today.

Ranveer is said to have contracted the infection while shooting the film “Gunday” in West Bengal.

The NY Daily News reports the 28-year-old movie star continued to film despite high fever and discomfort. However, despite his resilience, his condition worsened requiring him to seek medical care.

According to a source close to the actor, “He was diagnosed with a severe case of dengue fever and was admitted right away.”

Gunday is an upcoming Romantic Hindi film, written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Aditya Chopra. In addition to Ranveer, the film will feature Arjun Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles.The shooting of the film is held at Kolkata and some parts at Durgapur.

The film will be released on 14 February 2014,Valentine’s Day.
