‘Ground Floor’ season 2 approved by TBS, John C McGinley ‘so excited’
TBS has picked up a 10-episode second season their comedy Ground Floor, which centers on stars Skylar Astin and Briga Heelan, but also includes John C McGinley.
Deadline reports that “Ground Floor started off lower than the other two scripted comedies, drawing 1.6 million viewers for its premiere vs. 2.7 million for for Men at Work and 2.5 million for Sullivan & Son. But Ground Floor launched against much stronger competition during the November sweep; it has been pretty consistent, and TBS brass believe in its upside potential.”
Scrubs star McGinley took to twitter to express his happiness.
“HUGE announcement! “Ground Floor” just got officially picked up for Season Two! I am so excited, I can’t even tell you.” – @JohnCMcGinley
Ground Floor was created by Bill Lawrence and Greg Malins and is set in corporate America. He discovers, however, that she works in the maintenance department for the building where his investment bank– Remington Trust – is located. Suddenly their worlds begin to collide in the most unexpected ways. Facing Brody’s critical boss, Mr. Mansfield (McGinley), as well as annoyed colleagues, the pair must find a way to deal with their growing feelings for each other in this modern take on Romeo & Juliet.
