Gregory Rodriguez, host of ‘A Rifleman’s Journal’ shot and killed by Wayne Bengston in bizarre murder suicide
Tragedy in Montana claimed the life of Gregory Rodriguez, the host of A Rifleman’s Journal on the Sportsman Channel, who was shot and killed by the husband of the woman he was meeting on Friday.

Wayne Bengston
Wayne Bengston, age 41, arrived home to discover the pair talking over a glass of wine. He then shot Rodriguez, beat his wife with the end of the handgun and then drove their 2-year-old son to relative. Bengston then shot himself in the head.
Authorities have confirmed to The Global Dispatch that Rodriguez met the woman at a trade show and she works for a firearms manufacturer. Their interactions are not believed to have been romantic.
“It’s pretty much an open-and-closed case. Homicide and suicide,” Police Chief Dial said. “I think it was a jealous husband, but this is all conjecture,” Dial added.
Rodriguez was CEO of Global Adventure Outfitters, editor of Shooting Times Magazine, and a contributing editor of Petersen’s Hunting, Guns & Ammo.
“A Rifleman’s Journal” tracks Rodriguez’s hunting travels to exotic locations, according to the Sportsman Channel description.
He has a wife and two children.
