GOP race: Lindsey Graham mocked for getting only 4% in new South Carolina poll
A new Monmouth University poll indicates that Donald Trump is leading among South Carolina Republicans with 30% support, followed by retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 15%. No other candidates register in double digits.
Trump seized the chance to attack South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham and his bad showing in Palmetto State at 4%.
“Congrats @LindseyGrahamSC. You just got 4 points in your home state of SC—far better than zero nationally. You’re only 26 pts behind me. — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 25, 2015“
Graham fired back, bringing in Trump’s attacks on Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, saying on Fox News Radio that “If you think Megyn Kelly is a bimbo, you’re an idiot.”
He said of Trump’s remarks: “If that’s OK, you better accept the consequences of that being OK because we are going to lose!”
South Carolina’s primary is scheduled for next February and is considered a critical battleground for candidates seeking the GOP nomination.
