Google outage not reported while Facebook, Twitter stay up
Internet outages, Time Warner falling on the sword, but what could be the rest of the story?
Between 4:30 am and 7 am Google services, all of The Global Dispatch servers and our satellite websites were down. We checked Facebook and Twitter – both were still up and running. News aggregator Feedly was also out.
The headlines report that Time Warner Cable reported outages from the East and West Coasts, originating in large cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, and Tampa. TWC announced through its official Twitter account that it was quickly working to correct the problem.
We’re working to restore services to all areas as quickly as possible; no ETR. Tweets will be delayed while this is addressed.

So Twitter was up.
See, what’s odd here is I reset the WiFi, routers etc…nothing but Facebook and Twitter were up. Now, that said, we did get a few news site overseas (e.g. Japan) which were up, but there is no news of the Google Outage.
Business Insider reported that “An incident on Virgin Media’s core network earlier caused widespread internet outages across London to Virgin Media provided leased lines.”
Time Warner, Virgin Media are not our carriers on our phones which accessed Twitter and Facebook easily and found nothing for the Google Products.
So, where is the explanation on Google adsense, analytics and gmail being down?
We don’t thnk we’re alone as the keywords “Google Outage today” and “Google Outage 2014” have resurfaced.
What impact does the outage have on servers because we use different hosting companies, which are not local? How did FB and Twitter stay online?
Strange and odd…made wierder by the utter silence on the Internet.
